The Andurien Secession Crisis; 3030

Welcome to the first post for gaming the Andurien Secession with BATTLETECH (HBS) PC game + Mods (Nexusmods will be needed; Enhanced 3025)


The Rules so far:

 Welcome...
 You are being contacted, as we need House Units and Mercs to fight this 3030 conflict.

 At this moment... We are looking for Andurien, Canopus, Capellan, and Merc Units for the initial Campaign.

 As the Campaign league progresses we will be adding House Marik and Steiner, which you will be allowed to play. Within the Battletech game: Multiplayer plays as CLASH (15M), BATTLE (20M), WAR (25M) or UNLIMITED - meaning you purchase a Lance up to that many million in CBills.

 The Campaign will run 9 Years (3030-3039)

 You will need to read, carefully, the installation instructions.

 This recreation of the Secession is to be played in the spirit of recreating viable and feasible units that would have fought in this conflict, not Min/Maxing.
To this I say - Think about the Lance you are going to drop into battle, would the Anduriens have taken it?  Would the Capellan Militia be able to field such a unit?
Play within the spirit of the game; less about winning, more about having fun.


  ANDURIEN SECESSION CRISIS 3030 

 Fighting/Raids: Victories and Victory Points (Playing the GAME!) 

 You may play as many battles as you wish in a week, depending on Jump Times and Ships (see below).
 Fighting will be determined by Attacker; Battle/War/Unlimited are for CONQUERING SYSTEMS

 CLASH is ONLY used by ATTACKER to RAID! (Capellans may have to use Clash to fight on backwater planets)

 A Victory grants you (Battle/War/Unlimited):

 1 Victory Point
 or
roughly 6.5 Million in Salvage/Raid Booty/Resources
 This will go up/down each week randomly, depending on Industry being destroyed and/or the Markets/Econ in general.
 or
 1 Defense Point to stack on a planet you own.
 Each planet starts with 4 Defense Points (Thus 4 Victory Points are needed to take a system)
 Some Planets start with more than 4 Defense Points, as they are major hubs/industries/military bases of the Confederation (Example: Grand Base has 10 Defense = 10 Victories needed, very secure due to EarthWerks)
 A CLASH fight (RAID) - Will grant you more Raid Booty than normal between 1.5x and 3x as much, but costs you a Jumpship. This is the give and take (Raid first and make cash? Capellans can raid too, once War starts!)
 Planets An average planet has 4 Defense (4 Victories needed to take it), some none or less due to the War, some may be bolstered and have more, up to 10 (see above).
 Each planet also has resource and/or industry as noted above. You may raid any amount on a planet up to the total Defense Points (say you want to hit the Repulse's HPG site or Ward's Iranian Industries site, or Buenos Aires farmstead. All will play a factor in morale and economy).

 Grand Base
 Grand Base is a commitment that is made by the Anduriens in the Crisis, if you choose to follow history... It has a Defensive strength of 8. At the start of the Crisis, but give you +50Million in resource reward.

 Sian
Sian is near impossible to hit; Comstar 299th, 4th Tau Ceti Rangers and Red Lancers give it a Defensive strength of 20. You may certainly attempt. +150million in resource reward + HPG is gained.

 Victoria
Cannot be reached at this point in time.

 Salvage/Raid Booty/House Resources

Salvage/Raid Booty and Resources may be spent on repairing units in the field, resupply, or purchasing Merc Units. (i.e. the cost of the mech in your lance to drop will come out of these funds)

HPG/Jumps and Ships

Typically what we see is 4 Fronts within the Invasion. We can assume this is due to numbers of Jump and Dropships available to Andurien and MAF forces. The Canopus and MAF forces may Purchase Mercs with their own Jumpships to increase their Fronts, or they may spend 12 saved Victory Points on 1 new Jumpship (assume this is a down payment to the factory) The Canopus and MAF may attempt to take an HPG, you will have to win 6 battles (6 Victory Points), assume there will be CCAF garrison and Comstar protecting the site. If an HPG is taken you may cash it in for Deeper/Further jumps into System, or you may cash it in for 12 Victory Points (i.e the cash value/return to Comstar). There will be little to no gaming when it comes to ships and jumps. It's about the Btech (HBS) gaming.

 Capellan Confederation (CCAF)

 Most Capellan Forces will start with garrisoned forces that are set Until MARCH OF 3031 The Capellan Forces are on the Defensive, unless the Capellan Player(s) can get 12 Victory Points saved up and Spent on a "Counter Offensive" (remember raids!) This initiates the New Hessen Armored Scouts and opens up a front for the CCAF. If 12 points are not saved and spent on this, the New Hessen Armored Scouts will be automatically purchased by the Confederation and sent on an "Offensive" mission March 3031. Due to the fact that the Lady Romano is insane and the Confederation is quite weakened after yet another Succession War, supplies will be sketchy at best, initially, for the Capellans; instead of 6.5 Million, the Capellans will receive 5 million for each Salvage, this also goes for raids and the disorganization the CCAF is in the first year (inherently, this means you will be looking at light and medium mechs for resupply - DONT LOSE TOO MANY MECHS! RETREATING IS AN OPTION!!

 Duchy of Andurien and Magistry of Canopus (Andurien Armed Forces/Defenders of Andurien/ MAF) 

 You are able to, initially, hit 4 Systems, each month. Depending on time frame (real time, and progression of game), that is up to 16 games (4 weeks x 4 Systems) in real time or more if all are fine with the time frame moving forward. Andurien and MAF forces are under pressure to secure systems. Yours is a resource push and land grab (Blitzkrieg the Confederation) . The more Cash you can make, the better, you will need it against the FWL. The Free Worlds League are paralyzed for the first 2 years (unplayable) due to Janos Mariks stroke, but will ramp up attacks in 3032.

 Time Frame

The Time frame will be broken up in monthly periods with Units being unlocked as the Crisis progresses or if Merc purchases are made. The Crisis starts in September 3030, forces available at this time.

 Mercenaries 

Any historical merc force may be purchased and used up to Battalion strength. You do the research, Game Master agrees/disagrees a price is set (see below). Mercs will fight until half strength. That means if you have a company of mechs you will be allowed 2 game losses (6-8 mech loss) and then they are gone/ break contract and run. Off to lick their wounds.
They will not meat grind like regular forces.
 If a Merc Company or Battalion has Jump/Drop capability, all the better.

 Prices Average
       Offensive Stance=
Merc Lance will hire for 2 Million Cbills a drop.
Merc Company will work for 4 Million Cbills a drop (if 6 mechs are lost they run)
Merc Battalion will hire for 12 Million Cbills a drop ( if 16 mechs are lost they run)
 Merc unit with Jump capability is 50% more.
      Defensive/Garrisoned Stance=
 Each level of Merc gives you Defense points if you garrison (Lance =1 / Company=2 / Battalion=4)
 A Garrisoned Merc Unit will cost you half of its Offensive fighting value for a MONTH.
(i.e Lance = 1 Million a month)
